Featured Tip

water marks

never expose your vehicle to water sprinklers' mist. It can cause severe damage to your paint's clear-coat.  The high mineral content in sprinkler's water will embed itself in the clear coat after the water evaporates. This will result in those nasty water marks on your paint finish; and even worse, this could cause permanent staining as well.

Top notch detailing ©  can help in protecting your clear coat paint by applying our special polymer paint sealer, which penetrates the pores and 'seals' against the pollutants and minerals that sprinkler water contains. Consider our paint poly seal that can protect your car's paint for up to a year!

Do It Yourself Tips

parking

We know everybody loves having a nice parking spot in the shade, however, this is not recommended. Tree sap, leaves and other debris will fall on your vehicle, staining and damaging your paint. And remember. our birdie friends love to leave their droppings on unsuspecting vehicles.

even though there are products that can clean tree sap and other organic matter from your vehicle, the acids that these pollutants contain can permanently damage your paint.

automatic car washes

automatic car washes can be a very time efficient way to clean your car's exterior, but the brushes used will cause small scratches and swirl marks.  Not to mention, that they do not reach those spots that can only be cleaned by a good hand wash.  These spots include, the rear end, tires and rims, mirrors and spoilers.

The only way to get rid of scratches and swirl marks is by buffing or compounding. This method is very efficient but it slowly makes your clear coat paint layer thinner.

washing frequency

at Top notch detailing ©  we recommend a weekly washing routine. By doing this, contaminants, dust, dirt and acid rain will not have a chance to adhere to your car paint. A good car wash should include debugging and sap and road tar removal. Your tires and wheels should also be cleaned to prevent brake dust build up.  This ensures that your vehicle looks top notch at all times.
